Erythritol is a so-called sugar alcohol which is usually obtained by the conversion of carbohydrates. It is distinguished by its good tolerability and similar sweetness as sugar (about 70%) compared to other sugar alcohols, making it a very suitable sweetener for most applications. It is also suitable for combination with stevia extracts as tabletop sweeteners. Erythritol is also available in organic.
